Otter River

I actually stumbled upon this shot late one afternoon with the sun about ready to set in the western sky. Talk about luck!

Morning Waves

Morning waves gently break across rocks in Copper Country along the Lake Superior shoreline in the Keewanaw Peninsula of Upper Michigan during October.

Sunrise on the Marsh

This capture was taken along a rural country road in Michigan as the morning sun was about to break the treeline durning a humid July morning.

Ludington North Breakwater Lighthouse

A cold March morning found me at Ludington, Michigan to capture the North Breakwater Lighthouse at sunrise about ready to escape from the bonds of winter and awaken to the warmer temperatures of spring.

Gitchigumi

While driving along Lake Superior, enroute to Copper Harbor at the northern-most tip of Upper Michigan in the Keweenaw Peninsula, I stopped to capture this shot of the largest fresh water lake in the world. The Native Americans call this greatest of the lakes Gitchigumi.

Sunrise on Lake Superior

Getting up before sunrise on a cold autumn day near Eagle Harbor in the Keewanaw Peninsula of Upper Michigan was well-worth the cold feet and frozen fingers.

White River Lighthouse

This proud maritime sentinel still stands at the shore of Lake Michigan and the White River near Whitehall, Michigan. The day my camera & lens took this capture was an unusually warm, pleasant, and a partly cloudy day.

A Michigan River in Winter

A shot of the Flat River before sunset as the clouds gently parted allowing the reflections of the sky to gently kiss the surface of the water that flows towards Lake Michigan.

Copper John's Falls

A stop along one of 300-plus native waterfalls gave my camera and lens time to capture one of many wonderful sights found in the Keewanaw Peninsula of Upper Michigan.

The Mighty Mackinaw Bridge

The Mighty Mackinaw Bridge links the Upper Peninsula of Michigan with the Lower Peninsula of Michigan. The first car traveled across the bridge when completed in 1957.

Autumn Marsh

A brief stop at a roadside marsh during early autumn provided my camera the opportunity to capture the transsition from the greens of summer to the delightful but short colors of autum.

Orchard at Sunrise

A brief moment at sunrise in an apple orchard as seen through the lens of my camera.

Silent Breath

I light breath of wind sweeps peacefully along the surface of the lake and heads towards an old cemetery past the pines.
